  • To keep our website secure, working properly and free of spam.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Our newsletter

Our mailing list is managed through a third-party email service provider that stores your name and email address on our behalf and may record whether emails are opened or links clicked. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies needed for it to function. If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email and website in cookies so you don’t need to re-enter them (these last one year). Site administrators who log in receive login cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.

Embedded content and links to other sites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (such as videos or maps) and links to other websites, including Meetup and Red Tent Global. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Who we share your data with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site and newsletter (such as our web host, email service provider and spam-filtering services), and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

We keep newsletter subscriber details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping. Blog comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.

Your rights and choices

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email greta@redtentlosangeles.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. This does not include data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Do Not Track: our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as there is no common standard for them.

Children’s privacy

Our website and gatherings are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

How we protect your data

We use reasonable measures, including a secure (HTTPS) connection, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
